Be a Friday Night Hero
This Friday October 21, 2016 you can help the Wake Forest High School Football Team help our neighbors to the east who have been devastated by Hurricane Matthew. Our area has seen hurricane damage, but nothing like the devastation occurring right now less than 100 miles away. We know local residents want to help – our goal is to create an easy way for all of us to assist these families in need. If anyone has neighborhood or work friends that are looking for a way to become involved, please collect items on behalf of this effort and bring them Friday night.
We will be accepting non-perishable food items as well as non-food essentials such as hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and paper products. Please no glass. All donations will go to The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina or to The American Red Cross in NC. We will also gladly accept any financial contributions – a check made out to one of the above charities is optimal. Cash donations will be accepted and forwarded immediately to the NCHSAA Hurricane Matthew Relief Assistance Night fund, which is providing matching funds up to $20,000.
Most needed items:
• non-refrigerated single serve meals and snacks • peanut butter
• hygiene products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant)
• cleaning supplies and disinfectant wipes • paper goods, utensils / products
For more information on items in demand, visit http://www.foodbankcenc.org/
Please direct any questions to Ben Lee at [email protected]
Donation Drop off areas will be located near the upper and lower entrances to Trentini Stadium at Wake Forest High School – look for the State of North Carolina flags to find the nearest drop off area.
